Opsware Launches Technology Alliance Partner Program at OPSWorld '06 User Conference

Technology Alliance Partner Program Addresses Growing Demand from ISV's Interested in Integrating with the Opsware Platform

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2006--Opsware Inc. (NASDAQ:OPSW), the leading provider of Data Center Automation software, today announced the Opsware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program at the company's annual user conference, OPSWorld '06, which opened today in San Jose, California. The comprehensive program supports technology partners that integrate their offerings with Opsware's market-leading suite of data center automation products. A number of the inaugural partners demonstrated how their products integrate with the Opsware Automation Platform (OAP) at the oversubscribed Technology Partner Pavilion, appearing for the first time at OPSWorld '06.

The Technology Alliance Partner program was initiated in response to the growing interest and demand from other ISV's to integrate with Opsware's platform. The Opsware Automation Platform offers the broadest and most extensible foundation available for end-to-end Data Center Automation, making it the natural choice for partners looking to provide customers greater value by integrating with automation software. In addition, Opsware is by far the fastest growing Data Center Automation software in terms of market penetration, and it is increasingly specified by customers as a standard requirement with which other technologies in the data center must interoperate. The TAP program already includes a number of partners, including Airwave, Enigmatec, Entuity, GridApp Systems, iConclude, KlioSoft, LogLogic, and Scalent Systems.

With the cost and complexity of today's IT infrastructure spiraling out of control, enterprises are turning to Data Center Automation to increase IT productivity, ensure policy compliance, remediate security threats, and reduce labor expenses. The Opsware Technology Alliance Partner program provides an effective way for partners to address these customer needs. To facilitate integration with the Opsware Automation Platform, the program includes access to Opsware evaluation software, APIs, and technical support, and it provides sales and marketing activities to promote joint solutions.

"IT Automation is a key requirement for the successful management of today's complex IT infrastructure, making integration to this technology a necessity," said Dave Maples, vice president of business development and strategic alliances at GridApp Systems, a provider of database automation solutions. "GridApp will enjoy many benefits from the Technology Alliance Partner Program including the opportunity to leverage Opsware's world class sales, marketing and development initiatives. This partnership will significantly extend our market opportunity and provide mutual customers with an integrated and comprehensive automation solution."

"With the introduction of our Technology Alliance Partner Program, Opsware is eliminating integration headaches for customers by facilitating interoperability between its award-winning Data Center Automation software and numerous market-leading technologies," said John O'Farrell, executive vice president of business development at Opsware Inc. "As a result, customers will have the opportunity to benefit from unprecedented control over IT operations, widespread visibility across their infrastructure, and a more rapid return on their technology investments."
